A Guide to the Recognition and Prevention of Occupational Heart Disease for the Fire and Emergency Medical Services
Heart
disease continues to be the leading cause of job related deaths among
IAFF members in both Canada and the United States. In 1996, over 56%
of line of duty deaths were attributable to heart disease and a related
disorder, stroke. This IAFF manual, A Guide to the Recognition and
Prevention of Occupational Heart Disease for the Fire and Emergency
Medical Services, is designed as a guide to assist the fire fighter, EMT, and paramedic in understanding heart disease and its prevention. This is a large file.
