Somewhere, right now, a meeting is being held to decide your future, only you weren't invited.
The Everett Firefighter Local 46 political action committee is an integral part of the Local?s efforts to promote the legislative and political interests of all its members. Its mission is to educate those who aspire to govern on the local, state and federal level about issues important to fire fighters and emergency medical personnel and elect candidates to office that support those issues.
Our purpose is to support candidates and/or issues that exhibit support for preserving or improving the wages, hours and working conditions and other fire service or labor related issues of our Members and to advocate the adoption of any or all measures which are in support of said interests of Everett Firefighters Local 46.
We oppose all candidates or issues which are not in support of said interests of Everett Firefighter Local 46!
Local 46 Candidate Endorsement Process:
We utilize two primary tools for the candidate endorsement process:
1. The Candidate Questionnaire.
2. The Candidate Screening Forum.
Areas to be explored during this process will include but may not be limited to:
1. Is the candidate or issue committee raising the necessary funds to finance a successful campaign?
2. Is the campaign organized, and does it have a solid written campaign plan with a timeline and budget?
3. Is there any polling data available?
4. What is the candidate or issue committee?s position on fire fighter and public safety issues?
5. What is the candidate or issue committee?s position on Labor issues?
Once the political action committee has considered all of this information, it will make a recommendation to the general membership for approval and formal endorsement of the candidate and/or issue. Upon membership approval, financial contributions, formal endorsement, and/or volunteer help may be made available in accordance with local, state and federal election laws.
Financial contributions may be made by direct monetary contribution and/or by independent expenditure(s) that complies with federal, state and/or local laws or ordinances.
In addition to financial contribution(s) from Everett Firefighters Local 46, we also offer assistance in the following areas:
- Yard sign distribution
- Literature drops
- Additional appropriate assistance as requested
